Waiting for the Storm

by Marie Landry
Rating: 3/5

First of all, this isn't usually the type of book I would read however, I enjoyed it.
I loved how the title played a big role in the book and the symbolism was really great. This story shows a family dealing with grief, and each other, in many different ways. I was struck by how real it all felt while reading. The author put in enough details to make you feel what the main character was feeling and I could see this being a very relatable book to many people in many different ways. Even if this isn't a genre you would normally read, I think this one is worth branching out for.

The one thing I did have a hard time with was how slow everything was. Time skips by at certain points, but it's not that, more that there were times where not much was happening. At these times the main character was usually reflecting, but that got a little bit too repetitive for me. It is a good read though, so if you have a hard time everyone once in a while, just push through it, it's worth it.
